Problems solved by technology

There are also some algorithms that use multi-scale detection methods to avoid the requirement of known conditions, but some prior knowledge is still needed when determining the possible scales and the thresholds corresponding to each tree height level.

Embodiment Construction

[0018] The invention provides a method for automatically extracting tree parameters in the upper layer of a forest stand from LiDAR point cloud data. The method is based on local maximum, region growth and polynomial fitting, and can obtain the upper tree parameters of the stand without prior knowledge. The method as figure 1 As shown, it is mainly realized through the following steps:

[0019] Step 1, generate CHM based on the LiDAR point cloud data of the area to be detected;

[0020] Step 2, carry out local maximum detection to the generated CHM, and obtain the tree tops of each individual tree to be detected in the region to be detected;

[0021] In the embodiment of the present invention, the detected local maximum value is used as the treetop of the single tree to be detected.

[0022] Step 3, starting from the top of each single tree to be detected, using the method of region growth, extracting the crown height profile in multiple directions;

Abstract

The invention aims to prevent the dependence on prior knowledge when forest stand upper layer tree parameters are extracted from LiDAR point cloud data and provides a method for automatically extracting forest stand upper layer tree parameters from LiDAR point cloud data. The method is realized through the following steps: detecting and acquiring the tree top of each single tree to be detected ina region to be detected based on the partial maximal value; acquiring parameters of the single tree to be detected by combining a region increasing method and a polynomial fitting method on the basisof the tree top of the single tree to be detected; and collecting the parameters of each single tree to be detected in the region to be detected, thus the forest stand upper layer tree parameters in the region to be detected are obtained. By utilizing the method provided by the invention, the segmentation of each single tree and the automatic extraction of the forest stand upper layer tree parameters are realized by combining the detection of the partial maximal value, a region increasing method and a polynomial fitting method without the prior knowledge, thus the extraction process of the forest stand upper layer tree parameters is simplified.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to laser radar data processing and information extraction technology, in particular to a method for automatically extracting tree parameters in the upper layers of forest stands from LiDAR point cloud data. Background technique [0002] LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging, LiDAR) is an active remote sensing technology that measures the distance between the sensor and the target through the laser pulse emitted by the sensor. In forestry applications, lidar can be used to retrieve the vertical structure of forests and estimate tree heights. For example, the airborne small-spot lidar system has been successfully used to estimate single tree parameters, such as tree height, tree crown size, tree position, etc. [0003] In recent years, a large number of individual tree segmentation and single tree parameter extraction algorithms based on LiDAR point cloud data have been developed. These algorithms start from the laser point cloud dat...
