Embodiment Construction

[0037] Basic thought of the present invention has following two points:

[0038] Only one LCID is used for all RLC PDUs from the same logical channel to reduce header consumption.

[0039] Two extension bits (E1 and E2) are used for the following purposes:

[0040] 1 extended bit E1:

[0041] E1=1, indicating that the following information is for the LI field of the RLC PDU from the same logical channel;

[0042] E1=0, indicating that the next bit is the E2 bit.

[0043] 1 extended bit E2:

[0044] E2=1, indicating that the following information is for the LCID of the RLC PDU from different logical channels;

[0045] E2=0, indicating that the LCID and LI information for all RLC PDUs of the current MAC frame has come to an end, and next is another MAC information for another MAC frame.

[0046] Its purpose is to ensure that the Rx MAC can correctly distinguish and extract each RLC PDU from the same or different logical channels.

Abstract

A method for identifying the sizes and the sources of several radio link control-protocol data units (RLC PDUs) which multiplex in a media access control (MAC) frame is provided, in which the size of each RLC PDU is indicated by a length indication (LI) field. The method includes: identifying the RLC PDUs corresponding to the same logic channel by setting only one logical channel identification (LCID); and distinguishing the sources corresponding to respective RLC PDUs using two extended bits.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of wireless communication, in particular to a method and device for identifying the source and size of multiple RLC PDUs (Radio Link Control-Protocol Data Units) multiplexed in a MAC (Medium Access Control) frame, Redundant LCID (Logical Channel ID) information in the header of the MAC frame can be avoided, thereby saving radio resources. Background technique [0002] In an LTE (Long Term Evolution) communication system, RLC PDUs for the same and / or different logical channels are multiplexed in the MAC layer. Furthermore, the size of the RLC PDU is variable in LTE. Therefore, the strategy used must ensure that: [0003] - Rx (receiver) MAC layer correctly extracts every RLC PDU; [0004] - The Rx MAC layer correctly sends each extracted RLC PDU to its associated RLC entity. [0005] This means that the Rx MAC layer must know the source and length (size) information of each RLC PDU without ambiguity. [00...
