Problems solved by technology

The known tunnel washing machines therefore have a relatively complex construction, so that the tunnel washing machines are only used in places where large wash loads are washed
Due to at least three consecutive partitions, the drum must have a relatively large length, so known tunnel washing machines require a lot of space in the washing workshop

Embodiment Construction

[0033] The devices shown here each constitute a washing automatic line for the wet treatment of laundry, in particular for washing, rinsing and dewatering of said laundry. The device has a simplified tunnel washer 10 , so that, contrary to conventional tunnel washers, it is also suitable for washing small loads starting from 150 kg / h.

[0034] The tunnel washing machine 10 has a drum 12 that is rotatably driven about a preferably horizontal axis of rotation 11 . A plurality of successive chambers 14 are formed in the drum 12 by transversely oriented partition walls 13 in the passage direction 16 of the laundry, not shown, through the drum 12 .

[0035] There are essentially only two treatment zones in the drum 12 of the tunnel washing machine 10, and these are a prewash zone 15 and a washing zone 17 connected to the prewash zone 15 in the passage direction 16 of the laundry through the drum 12. . In the exemplary embodiment shown, five successive chambers 14 in the direction...

Abstract

Existing washing installations are comprised of a tunnel washing machine (10) and of a subsequent spin drier (18) or water extraction press. In the tunnel washing machine (10) , a washing as well as arinsing of the laundry ensues. This requires a relatively large amount of fresh water. In addition, a tunnel washing machine (10) of this type requires a lot of space. The aim of the invention is thus to form a washing installation consisting of a tunnel washing machine (10) that both rinses the laundry items as well as extracts water therefrom. The rinsing as well as the water extraction can ensue in the subsequent spin drier (18) or water extraction press. It has been demonstrated that the invention improves the rinsing capacity and enables a lower consumption of fresh water. The inventionenables relatively small amounts of laundry to be economically washed using a tunnel washing machine (10). When the tunnel washing machine (10) is provided without a rinsing area, it is able to have ashorter and simpler design.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for wet treatment of laundry. Background technique [0002] Liquids are used especially for washing and rinsing laundry in the wet treatment of laundry, wherein fresh water is essentially involved in rinsing. Rinse results are also related to the amount of fresh water used. But from an environmental point of view one would like to minimize the need for fresh water as much as possible. [0003] For washing and rinsing laundry, so-called tunnel washing machines have been developed with a long, rotationally driven drum, in which successive chambers are formed. In the known tunnel washing machines at least three zones follow one another, namely a prewash zone, a rinse zone and a rinse zone. Free convection of the washing liquid is required in the rinsing zone, so the drum must additionally be equipped with an external chamber. The known tunnel washing machines therefore have a relatively complex c...
