This invention discloses a method for carrying out short-message chat by mobile terminals on computer, in which, the computer side receives short messages sent by a mobile terminal side by a bottom monitor thread and judges if it is a new one, if so, it reads it according to its position and index number and decides it and synchronizes the successfully decoded short message into a database of the computer side and picks up number of the mobile terminal and matches with the terminal number in the chat mode set up for the user, if it matches successfully, the computer side enters into the chat mode automatically, if not, the computer short message enters into an ordinary receiving mode.
