Embodiment Construction

[0047] The present invention relates to a new type of barbecue grill, wherein the driving mechanism is installed in the skewer assembly, so that the driving mechanism receives as little heat as possible, thereby prolonging its service life. Through such arrangement, the device of the present invention can conduct more heat to the food to be roasted. Therefore, compared with the barbecue grill of the prior art, the cooking time required by the device of the present invention is significantly reduced.

[0048] FIG. 1 is an embodiment of the present invention, indicated by numeral 10 . The barbecue grill 10 comprises: a horizontally mounted skewer assembly indicated by reference numeral 20; grooved side walls 5A and 5B respectively supporting the long axis ends of the skewer assembly; and a bottom plate 7 supporting the corresponding side walls 5 respectively. The skewer assembly 20 is generally a cylinder with an extension 17 at one end of its long axis, and the end of the exten...

Abstract

A rotisserie apparatus is disclosed comprising a skewer assembly having a stationary portion and a rotatable portion, a first side wall for fixedly supporting the stationary portion, a second side wall for rotatingly supporting the rotatable portion, and at least one base element for supporting the first and second side walls. A casing enclosing the rotatable portion is driven by a mechanically powered drive mechanism that is housed in the interior of the casing. Heat transfer to the skewer assembly may be increased by use of a heat absorbing plate.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a rotary rotisserie for grilling chicken body or other similar foods. The unit can be used with any normal indoor oven or grill, as well as outdoor grills. Background technique [0002] A rotisserie is a device that rotates food, such as chicken, close to a heat source so that the food is cooked at a generally even temperature. The outer surface of the food is exposed to the high temperature generated by a general oven, such as 250°C, and the heat is transferred from the outer surface of the food to the relatively cooler interior of the food. The rotation speed of the food is slow enough, about 5rpm, so that the slow speed can avoid local overcooking of the outer surface and cause scorching, while ensuring that the food, especially the inside, can continue to be cooked. At this rotational speed, the fat dripping from the food during grilling does not drip onto the floor or the drip pan, but instead clings to the food, leaving...
