Problems solved by technology

[0005] Furthermore, known topsheets are typically not specifically designed to absorb high viscosity fluids such as loose stools, wound exudates, blood and menses
Therefore, a typical topsheet may leak, stain, and affect the health of the skin due to prolonged contact with the wearer's skin

Embodiment Construction

[0024] figure 1 Denotes the laminated fiber web 1 suitable for the product of the present invention, and is hereinafter referred to as the fiber web 1 for short. The fiber web 1 comprises at least two layers. The layers are referred to herein as generally planar, two-dimensional precursor webs, such as first precursor web 20 and second precursor web 21 . Any one of the precursor webs can be a film, a nonwoven material, or a woven web. Precursor webs 20 and 21 (and any additional webs) may be joined by adhesives, thermal bonds, ultrasonic bonds, etc., but preferably are joined without the use of adhesives or other forms of bonding. As disclosed below, the constituent precursor webs of web 1 may be joined by interlocking mechanical engagement resulting from the formation of tufts 6 .

[0025] The web 1 has a first side 3 and a second side 5, and the term "side" is used in common usage for two-dimensional webs that are generally planar, such as paper and films that have two si...

Abstract

The invention discloses an absorption material comprising a top plate, a bottom plate and an absorbing core between the top plate and the bottom plate. The top plate is equipped with a first side and a second side, the first side faces to the side of body, and the second side communicates with the absorbing core for keeping fluids communication. The top plate is also equipped with a first relatively hydrophobic component and a second relatively hydrophilic component. The relatively hydrophilic component extends through the relatively hydrophobic component and is positioned on two sides of the top plate. When the method of flooder acquisition and return percolation test is utilized to measure, the return percolation value of the absorbing material is less than 94 mg, and the fluid acquisition rate is approximately at least 0.10 milliliter per second.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to body facing layers of disposable absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins. In particular, the present invention relates to topsheets having improved fluid handling properties. Background technique [0002] Disposable absorbent articles such as disposable diapers, incontinence products, catamenial products, etc. are widely used and many efforts have been made to improve the effectiveness and functionality of these articles. Typically, these articles have a fluid-permeable body-facing layer (commonly referred to as a topsheet), a fluid-impermeable garment-facing layer (commonly referred to as a backsheet), and an absorbent core sandwiched between the topsheet and the backsheet. Other components, such as acquisition layers, secondary topsheets and adhesive fasteners, are also well known in the art. [0003] Conventional body-facing layers, ie, topsheets, used in disposable absorbent articles typically exhibit a compro...
