A method for determining contextual awareness in a work site (13) comprises providing at least one environmental modeling device (EM) on or outside of a machine; arranging at least one tracking device (TA) on at least one of the machine or outside of the machine; data is acquired by at least one tracking device (TA) and by at least one environment modeling device.
