Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: firstly, selecting aquilaria sinensis which are more than 5 years old and still do not produce agilawood or produce little agilawood after artificial agilawood production for improvement; cutting or sawing a notch with a flat bottom and an inclined upper part at the part, 40 cm above the ground, of the trunk of the selected to-be-improved aquilaria sinensis; cutting one to four grafting unions on a cambium between the bark at the flat bottom of the notch and the xylem of the trunk by using a knife according to the size of the trunk; at the position of the formed grafting opening, grafting the bud sticks of the seed trees of the Machilus davidii or the bud sticks of the first-generation Machilus davidii, wherein the length of the bud sticks is 5-15 cm, and the bud sticks at least comprise one leaf bud; and after grafting is completed, completely binding a grafting opening with a preservative film or a plastic film.
