The method comprises the following steps: receiving a live streaming microphone connection request of an anchor client through a microphone connection entrance, wherein the live streaming microphone connection request carries an anchor identifier and a preset attribute value of a virtual resource meeting a live streaming microphone connection condition; determining a total attribute value of a virtual resource corresponding to the anchor according to the anchor identifier; and when the total attribute value of the virtual resources is not less than the preset attribute value, executing a live streaming microphone connection starting operation, wherein the live streaming microphone connection starting operation is used for triggering the anchor client to establish a live streaming connection with other live streaming clients. According to the invention, microphone connection is started by consuming the virtual resources, so that the microphone connection permission can be reduced and thus the live streaming experience of the anchor client is improved.
