Abstract

The invention relates to a torque-limiting device having two torque transfer bodies (1, 2), which, as a consequence of oblique flank contact during relative rotation about an axis (A), can be moved relative to each other in the direction of said axis (A) against the restoring force of a spring element (8), which is supported on a shoulder (10) of an abutment (9), the position of which shoulder isset during calibration of a limiting torque. By means of a method according to the invention, the torque-limiting device is calibrated by applying a predefined force (F1) to the spring element (8). The resulting spring length defines the axial position of the shoulder (10) of the abutment (9), which axial position is irreversibly fixed.
