The testing robot comprises a robot controller and a data collector, wherein the robot controller is used for receiving an elevator testing instruction sent by a testing server, and determining a target load value of an elevator and a target testing floor according to the elevator test instruction; adjusting a water amount of a built-in loading water tank of the testing robot by a prearranged water supply and drainage apparatus, so that a current load value ofthe elevator carrying the testing robot is matched with the target load value; and sending an elevator calling request to an elevator controller, and triggering the elevator controller to control theelevator to transport the testing robot to the target testing floor; and the data collector is used for collecting operating data about that the elevator transports the testing robot to the target testing floor, so as to test the elevator. In the application, the current load value of the elevator is adjusted by the loading water tank; a safety risk brought about by adjusting a load value by labor is avoided; meanwhile, the elevator testing can be uninterrupted without the participation of the labor; and the efficiency of the elevator testing is improved.
