Benefits of technology

The technical effect of this patented technology involves improving the efficiency and performance of an in-motion navigational (INM) system by aligning its components accurately with each other during flight phases or when performing certain tasks such as landing operations. This helps reduce delays caused by initial position adjustment for better orientation control over spacecraft's motion.

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes two main problem areas: firstly, it highlights how accurate an orientation reference (orientation) for navigational systems can be determined by initially aligning them correctly before use or during operation; secondly, there may also exist issues related to improving upon this alignment method through better visibility from outside sources like radar signals.

Abstract

The invention provides an initial alignment method and device of an inertial navigation system. The method comprises the steps: carrying out coarse alignment on an inertial navigation system and thencarrying out Kalman filtering alignment according to a normal sampling rate and a navigation calculation rate; carrying out reverse navigation calculation and reverse Kalman filtering alignment on stored inertia original data before alignment ending; and performing reverse alignment till an initial coarse alignment moment and carrying out forward filtering alignment according to the stored inertiaoriginal data. According to the invention, a problem of long initial alignment time of the existing inertial navigation system is solved; azimuth error estimation convergence can be accelerated; andthe alignment time can be shortened.
