Abstract

In one embodiment a diagnostic test unit for analysing body fluid is provided which utilises a leaf spring (6) in combination with a seal (8), located in at least one section of a supply chamber opening, to shield the test tape (3) or test strips stored in the supply chamber (2) from the environment outside the chamber (2). The leaf spring (6) is applied directly over the opening of the storage chamber (2), closing it to the outside environment, after the chamber has been loaded with test tape or test strips and drying agent. The closing leaf spring (6) is sealed onto a face on the chamber which borders the opening and at least one section of the face is formed by a seal. The test tape or strips (3) exit through a gap between the closing leaf spring and the seal.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a diagnostic test unit for analyzing bodily fluids, particularly but not exclusively, to a diagnostic test unit for analyzing bodily fluids such as blood, interstitial fluid and urine. Background technique [0002] Portable analysis of bodily fluids such as blood, interstitial fluid, urine, etc. is often performed using single-use tests. These tests must be stored in a dry state until use to preserve the reagents and thus maximize shelf life. Storage containers are needed that allow the test to be removed without the user opening and closing the lid, such as those found in cassettes and magazines containing test strips or test strips. [0003] US 5,077,010 to Ishizaka et al. describes a cassette housing, transparent carrier tape, with an information field and a test field for diagnostic use. Moisture is kept out of the unused belt compartment by means of a flexible gasket or series of flexible gaskets. Unused strips ...
