The video player control method comprises the following steps: video clips of a plurality of video sources are respectively loaded into a plurality of video players in advance; wherein one video player in the plurality of video players is a projection player; the other video players are non-projection players; in the process that the projection player plays the video, when it is monitored that the projection player needs to be adjusted to be the non-projection player, the projection playeris adjusted to be the non-projection player, one non-projection player is adjusted to be the projection player, and the adjusted projection player is controlled to start to play the pre-loaded video clip. Compared with the prior art that video clips need to be loaded one by one when a video is played, the seamless playing effect can be presented to a user when videos of a plurality of video sources are played in a web browser by adjusting the video player to play the pre-loaded video clips.
