Themethod, which is applied to a mobile terminal, includes the following steps: receiving to-be-verified information sent by a server through a client program installed in the mobile terminal, wherein the to-be-verified information includes the sending number and sending time of a to-be-verified short message; matching the to-be-verified information with the information of a received short message ofthe mobile terminal; if the to-be-verified information is matched with the information of the received short message, feeding back a result indicating normal reception of the to-be-verified short message to the server; and if the to-be-verified information is not matched with the information of the received short message, feeding back a result indicating failure in normal reception of the to-be-verified short message to the server. Whether a user receives a short message normally can be verified after the short message is sent to the user, and there is no need for operation by the user in theverification process.
