Problems solved by technology

[0005] 1. It is hoped that FC switches can also be similar to Ethernet switches. Nodes can be connected to a certain port at will without affecting the communication of upper-layer applications, but the above-mentioned network does not support arbitrary access.
[0006] 2. It is hoped that the upper-layer application communication will be unbound from portID and msgID. The change of the port position of the destination node during operation will not affect the application communication, but the above-mentioned network does not support the port position change of the node during operation.

Embodiment Construction

[0038] The invention discloses a design method for accessing any port of an FC switching network, which specifically includes the following steps:

[0039] Step 1: abstract the optical fiber interface card FIC and its subordinate CPU and upper-layer applications into a logical device, and the system integrator globally and uniformly plans the logical device and its devID (device ID), as well as the logical msgID (message ID) between logical devices .

[0040] As an interface device, the optical fiber interface network card FIC is connected to the processor CPU through PCI, PCIe and other interfaces. As an external device of the CPU, it is managed by the CPU. The upper-layer applications refer to various applications built on the FC network, such as display control, communication and navigation, and the like. Usually the system contains multiple logical devices, and the logical devices are interconnected through the FC network. For a system with a small number of logical devi...

Abstract

The invention discloses an FC (Fibre Channel) switching network any port access design method. The method comprises the steps that fibre interface cards (FICs), CPUs to which the FICs belong, and upper layer applications are abstracted into logic devices, and a system integrator globally and uniformly plans the logic devices, device IDs thereof, and logic message IDs among the logic devices; the system integrator uniformly plans logic device roles, wherein a logic device is a network controller (NC), and the other logic devices are remote terminals (RT); and FC drivers of the NC logic devicesestablish and maintain global mapping relationship tables, and through establishment and maintenance of the global mapping relationship tables, communication among the upper layer applications of different logic devices is realized according to the global mapping relationship tables. According to the method provided by the invention, a system is enabled to support the fact that the devices can access certain port of switches arbitrarily without influencing normal communication of the upper layer applications, so management, use and maintenance complexity of the system is greatly reduced.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of computer networks, in particular to a design method for accessing any port of an FC switching network. Background technique [0002] The optical switching network based on the FC-SW protocol is a star network centered on FC (Fibre Channel, Fiber Channel) switches, which can be a logical switch composed of one switch or multiple switches. figure 1 A star network structure in which N sets of n-port FC switches are combined to form a logical switch is given. FIC (Fibre Interface Card, fiber interface card) is a node connected to a switch port, and each node has a globally unique ID ( portID, port ID), and bind to the connected switch port. [0003] This mechanism of binding node IDs to switch ports requires system integrators to plan in advance all nodes in the system and their connection relationship with switches, which is conducive to building a switching network with a definite physical topology. The upper layer...
