Abstract

The invention discloses application of hybrid wedelia in treatment of cadmium polluted water and a treatment method. The hybrid wedelia is a new species produced by hybridization of wedelia trilobataas the male parent and wedelia chinensis as the female parent. The treatment method includes the step of: using a hybrid wedelia plant floating-bed to absorb cadmium, wherein the hybrid wedelia plantfloating-bed is formed by transplanting hybrid wedelia to cadmium polluted water for colonization. The treatment method provided by the invention has the characteristics of low cost, simple operation,significant treatment effect, applicability to water with cadmium concentration up to 200micromol/L, no secondary pollution, water and soil conservation, and environment beautifying.
