The invention provides an animation creation method and apparatus, an electronic device and a computer readable storage medium. The method comprises the steps of obtaining animation description data in a JSON format, and according to the obtained animation description data, creating an animation protocol based on a preset rule; then according to the animation protocol, generating an animation creation class corresponding to the animation description data; and finally running the animation creation class, and running realization code segments corresponding to animation type data and animation related parameters through an animation realization calling interface to realize an animation effect. For research and development personnel, the realized animation effect is described only by inputting a simple JSON language, so that the animation effect can be automatically realized through the process; compared with a process of performing manual programming for creating each animation effect inrelated technologies, the operation is quicker and easier; and the development difficulty is lowered, and the development efficiency and the manpower cost can be effectively improved and reduced.
