Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a tunnel establishment method and a communication system, and relates to the technical field of the communication. A VXLAN tunnel is established by using the SDN controller to ideologically learn a neighbor address of a VTEP. The method comprises the following steps: starting a VTEP Server through a SDN controller to monitor the access of a VXLAN Client; configuring the neighbor address of the VETP Client as the local IP address of the VTEP Server; actively learning the VTEP neighbor address information if the SDN controller senses the access of the VXLAN Client; if the active learning cannot be realized, passively learning the VTEP neighbor address information through a packet in message; and then issuing a command for establishing the neighbor address as the VTEP of the local IP address of the VTEP Client to the VXLAN Server by the SDN controller. The technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention is suitable for the establishment process of the VXLAN tunnel.
