The self-tuning system for pianos comprises a tone selection unit, an audio acquisition unit, a frequency analysis unit, a pitch curve correction unit, a frequency comparison unit and a result output unit. The invention also provides a self-tuning manner. According to the prompt of the invention, the self-tuning process of pianos can be completed. For different characteristics of each piano, different piano pitch curves are automatically generated for tuning purpose. Meanwhile, tuning recommendations of the same hierarchy with professional tuners are provided.
