Abstract

The present invention discloses an auto focusing method and apparatus, relating to the technical field of photographing. The method comprises the steps of extracting, from a to-be-focused image in a viewfinder frame, multiple human face features of multiple human faces in the to-be-focused image; matching with a focus human face database according to the multiple human face features, and determining at least one focusing human face from the multiple human faces, wherein the focus human face database stores at least one focus human face feature obtained through analysis of multiple historical images; and determining a focus of a to-be-focused image in a face display area of the at least one focusing human face. According to the method, the human face features of multiple human faces are extracted from the to-be-focused image, and the focusing human face is determined among the human face features of the multiple human faces according to the focus human face database, so that auto focusing is realized in an auto photographing mode, and the definition of the photographed image is improved.
