The method comprises the following steps that 1, a current neutron yield is measured through a thermal neutron monitor; 2, if a difference value between the current neutron yield and a previous neutron yield exceeds a first threshold value, the needed neutron yield adjustment amount is calculated according to the difference value between the current neutron yield and the previous neutron yield and an expected neutron yield; 3, the expected supply voltage of a neutron generator is calculated according to the neutron yield adjustment amount and intrinsic parameters of the while-drilling neutron generator and the thermal neutron monitor, and then the supply voltage of the neutron generator is adjusted accordingly.
