Embodiment Construction

[0040] In order to provide an intuitive understanding of the present invention, we will combine Figures 1 to 3 An embodiment of an inspection system including an inspection device and one or more lighting devices is briefly described. In addition, a more detailed description will follow with reference to other drawings. Thus, according to a first embodiment of the inspection system 100, which comprises a first embodiment of the inspection device 102 and a first embodiment of at least one lighting device 104, the at least one lighting device 104 is arranged to transmit information. Typically, encoding is performed by controlling the drive signal to the light emitters of the lighting device 104 such that a sequence of pulses embodying the information is emitted. A common technique is to use lighting fixtures equipped with PWM (pulse width modulation) controllable light emitters, although others also exist. The pulse frequency of the pulse train is high enough to make it invi...

Abstract

The invention relates to the verification of the authenticity of lighting equipment. A lighting device capable of emitting coded light is provided. The lighting device has an interrogation receiver arranged to receive an interrogation and a response transmitter arranged to generate and transmit a response to the interrogation. The response is generated by means of the combined challenge and secret key. Furthermore, a corresponding checking device is provided which generates a query and provides it to the lighting device and analyzes the response in order to check the authenticity of the lighting device.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the verification of the authenticity of lighting equipment. Background technique [0002] Providing lighting devices with the ability to transmit information by means of encoding the light output of the lighting devices is a recent communication technology. Optical communication is usually confined to one area or one room. This new technology is attractive, but protected by patent rights. It would be advantageous to be able to remotely verify that a lighting device is an original product made by a licensed manufacturer and not a counterfeit. There is no such existing lighting or inspection equipment. Contents of the invention [0003] It is an object of the present invention to provide a lighting device, a verification device and a method of verifying the authenticity of a lighting device. [0004] This object is achieved by a lighting device according to the invention as defined in claim 1 , a checking device as defined ...
