Abstract

The invention discloses a quick pre-skip mode determining method in H.264 / SVC (H.264 / Scalable Video Coding). By combining RDcost (Rate Distortion cost) comparison and CBP (Coded Block Pattern) checking, the skip mode of a module is predetermined; and the method disclosed by the invention is higher in coding efficiency and smaller in coding quality loss. In order to further increase the coding speed, the method can be further applied to other SVCFMD algorithms and used as an early skipping detection method.
