Problems solved by technology

[0007] However, both of the above two methods have obvious defects. As far as the nearest route selection strategy is concerned, the number of frame hops for packets to be forwarded in the IRF system is small, and the system forwarding performance consumes less. Less, may not meet bandwidth requirements in some applications
As far as the global sharing strategy is concerned, the available bandwidth of aggregation members can be increased to achieve better load sharing. However, this strategy will cause some packets to flow through multiple chassis in the IRF system, which consumes a lot of forwarding capacity of the IRF system.

Abstract

The invention provides a method for carrying out aggregate routing in an IRF (intelligent resilient framework) system and a machine frame switch. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring bandwidth parameters of all aggregate member ports in one aggregate group, and forwarding performance loss parameter of the machine frame switch of the aggregate member port relative to the current machine frame switch; selecting different aggregate member port combinations, and calculating the metric value of the aggregate member port combination according to the bandwidth parameters of the aggregate member ports in the aggregate member port combination and the forwarding performance loss parameter of the aggregate member port relative to the current machine frame switch; and adding the aggregate member ports in the aggregate member port combination with the minimal metric value to the aggregate member port table of the current machine frame switch so as to carry out aggregate routing of the message. The invention can increase the maximum aggregate member available bandwidth with the minimum forwarding performance loss.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of communications, and in particular to a method for performing aggregation routing in an IRF (Intelligent Resilient Framework, intelligent elastic framework) system and a subrack switch. Background technique [0002] The IRF system refers to a system formed by connecting multiple chassis switches (chassis for short) through IRF ports and performing necessary configurations. In the IRF system, packets entering from each chassis are forwarded on the forwarding tree with the chassis as the root. [0003] In order to achieve link backup and bandwidth expansion, the IRF system and the peer device are usually connected through an aggregation port, where each chassis has 0 to n (n is a natural number greater than 0) aggregation member ports connected to the peer device. When each chassis has an aggregation member port, the system generally processes unicast packets according to the "priority forwarding pr...
