Abstract

The production method comprises the following steps: airing and drying the ancient silt from the Hutuo river in Wutai county in Shanxi province; putting the dried ancient silt into a water tank to be soaked for two hours; stirring the soaked ancient silt to form mud; filtering the mud; adding vermilion which accounts for 3% of the mud by mass and has fineness of 100 meshes to the filtered mud; stirring the mud with vermilion added; then filling the mud into a sack to filter out the moisture in the mud; taking out the mud and beating the mud to form a mud pie; putting the mud pie into a mould to prepare a blank; and putting the blank into a fireproof box and then putting the box into a kiln, controlling the kiln temperature to be 980-1050 DEG C and firing the blank for 72 hours, thus obtaining the vermilion Chengni inkstone.
