Problems solved by technology

The disadvantage of these adjustment operations is that they are very cumbersome and thus significantly increase the cost of the assembly method
[0024] As already seen, conventional methods for torsion box assembly present some of the disadvantages: inaccuracies in the aerodynamic surface of the skin after assembly; complexity; and performing tedious adjustment operations

Embodiment Construction

[0044] In order to better understand the purpose and function of the present invention, and not considered as a restrictive solution, the following is an introduction to the embodiments of the present invention based on the above-mentioned figures.

[0045] The embodiment described below relates to a method of assembling an anti-torsion box (1) for aviation use as shown in the figure, and its constituent elements to be assembled are basically as follows:

[0046] - front (2) and rear (2') stiffeners arranged longitudinally in the structure;

[0047] - a number of ribs (3) connected to the stiffeners (2, 2') and arranged transversely in the structure, each rib in this embodiment comprising a rib upper part (3') and a rib lower part (3 ");as well as

[0048] - a skin (4, 4') arranged to cover the structure around the stiffeners and ribs and connected to the stiffeners and ribs, comprising an upper skin part (4) and a lower skin part (4') (respectively the so-called upper and l...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and accessory tooling for mounting aeronautical structures such as torsion boxes. The method basically comprises mounting the longitudinal members (2, 2') and the ribs (3) with reference to the liner (4) such that, once the longitudinal members (2, 2') have been positioned, with the correct register, on a mounting frame (12), the ribs (3) are positioned transversely on condition that they fit in contact with the inner surface of the liner (4). The tooling comprises a jig (15) initially used to confer on the liner the theoretical shape to be imparted thereto once it has been mounted and to solidify said theoretical shape by incorporating attaching and tensioning means (16), in addition to supporting and positioning means (17, 18, 19, 20).

Description

[0001] purpose of invention [0002] As stated in the title of this specification, the object of the present invention is to provide a method of assembly of a torsion box type structure for aeronautical use in order to ensure a certain minimum dimensional tolerances within the aerodynamic outer surface of the skin, simplify the method of assembly and Eliminate unnecessary assembly operations. technical field [0003] As stated in the previous section, the invention finds application in the technical field of aeronautics, aircraft structures, in particular torsion box-type structures. [0004] The present invention relates to the anti-torsion box structure of its assembly method, referred to as anti-torsion box, which is a well-known structure in the technical field of aircraft structure. Accordingly, torsion boxes currently constitute the main structural elements in wings and horizontal stabilizers in aircraft. [0005] A torsion box is basically defined as a structure consi...
