Problems solved by technology

Most notably, speech recognition software has no ability to distinguish between homonyms, and typically requires effective pre-input to the system in order to recognize specific speakers, their particular habits, and speech habits
Moreover, speech recognition software, in an attempt to alleviate these problems, has become large and processing intensive, making it particularly unsuitable for smaller electronic devices with limited power and processing capabilities, such as mobile phones and text pagers

Embodiment 1

[0054] Example 1 For example, by considering figure 1 In the keypad 14900, pressing the keys 14901, 14902, 14903 without speaking may correspond to a group of characters 14908 in Table 1 in the system font (for example reflecting a part of the font). The system may recommend the word "was" with the highest priority among the words. This word may not be the word the user intended to enter.

[0055] The word recommended by the system based on the first input information may not be the word the user wishes to input. In order to try to replace the word with the desired word, according to one correction method, the user can provide information such as (for example, if necessary, as described later, press a predefined (for example, "correction") key and) say the desired word Additional input information (for unambiguous input of said character) of at least one character / characters (eg, preferably a start character) of a word to enter the correction process. By taking into account...

Embodiment 2

[0056] Embodiment 2 In Embodiment 1, for example, providing such as speaking the letter "y" corresponding to the pressing action provided on the key 14903 (during inputting a word (involving the first input information) or during the correction process (involving additional The voice of the input information)) can correspond to any one of a plurality of words in the following word group:

[0057] "hay"

[0058] "may"

[0059] "way"

[0060] "wry"

[0061] The system may pre-defined recommend the word "may" with the highest priority among the word groups.

[0062] The system may also include a navigation system, so that the user can notify the system of the input information corresponding to the word provided by the user in the character library (for example, including the first input information, and additional input information (if provided) ) corresponding to multiple word navigation.

[0063] According to the first navigation method, if the word recommended by the syst...

Embodiment 3

[0064] Embodiment 3 According to this navigation method, in embodiment 1, if the user provides a predefined press action for a predefined (eg, "modification") key, the system can provide the word group (eg, the same as the user-provided Among the multiple words in the word group corresponding to the first input information, the word "has" has the second highest priority after the word "was".

Abstract

A data entry system having a plurality of a first type of input means, such as keys, to provide input signals to which symbols, such at least the letters of the alphabet of at least one language, are distributively assigned, and such that at least two of the letters are assigned to at least one of the input means, and wherein pressing a key may provide a first input information that ambiguously correspond to any of the letters and a second input information for supporting using a second type of input means for entering unambiguous letters, and wherein the data entry system supports at least one database of words such that in order to enter a desired word of said at least one database, a user of said system selects one or two input methods.
