The invention relates to a central type system for purifying and supplying drinking water, wherein the parts connected with a water purifying pipeline comprise: a water purifying unit and a water purifying water tank connected therewith, and a second control valve arranged between the water purifying unit and the water purifying water tank; a soft water unit and a pure water unit connected therewith, a water purifying pressurizing delivery pump arranged between the soft water unit and the water purifying water tank, and a third control valve arranged between the pure water unit and the soft water unit; a pure water tank connected with the pure water unit, a fourth control valve arranged between the pure water tank and the pure water unit, and a pure water delivery pump connected with the pure water tank; and a control system which is connected with the water purifying unit, the soft water unit, the second control valve, the third control valve and the fourth control valve. The invention also discloses a using method of the system. The system and the method can supply water with different qualities, such as pure water, soft water, direct drinking water, pure water, and the like; the system is convenient to mount and use; and the comprehensive water resource utilization rate of the system can reach between 80 and 90 percent.
