Problems solved by technology

Therefore, if there is an obstacle on or near the rail 200, the blade cover 206 and / or the motor 207 will touch the obstacle and interfere with the cutting operation.
In addition, when the engine 207 swings, the oil level of the engine 207 will change and the float of the engine carburetor will move accordingly, causing the performance of the engine 207 to be affected, which will increase the failure of the engine

Embodiment Construction

[0024] Now with regard to the cutting machine of the first embodiment of the present invention, illustrate according to accompanying drawing.

[0025] As shown in FIGS. 1-5 , the cutting machine includes a frame 11 , a positioning device 12 for fixing workpieces or rails 28 and a cutter 13 for cutting the rails 28 . The positioning device 12 forms part of the frame 11 . Cutter 13 is contained on the frame 11.

[0026] The frame 11 includes a central frame 15 , a positioning device 12 , a pair of foldable handles 22 , a pair of parallel guide shafts 16 and a rear frame 17 .

[0027] The central frame 15 is substantially in the center of the cutting machine and has a positioning device 12 at its front end. A guide shaft 16 extends rearward from the center frame 15 . The cutter 13 is slidably supported by a center frame 15 and a guide shaft 16 . A rear frame 17 interconnects the rear ends of the guide shafts 16 . Wheels 18 are supported on the sides of the rear frame 17 . F...

Abstract

A cutting apparatus for cutting a rail (28) or other elongated workpiece includes a rotatable blade (60) for cutting the rail (28), a blade cover (61) for covering the blade (60), an engine (63) (or motor) for driving the blade (60), and a frame (11) for supporting the blade (60), the blade cover (61) and the driver (63). The cutting apparatus further includes link mechanisms (62-64). One link mechanism (62) supports the blade (60) and the blade cover (61) relative to the frame (11) and permits the blade cover (61) to move while maintaining a predetermined attitude during cutting. Therefore, the blade cover (61) moves vertically and avoids hitting obstacles. Another link mechanism (64) moves the driver (63) while maintaining a predetermined attitude of the driver (63). Therefore, the driver (63) remains level during cutting.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to cutting machines for cutting elongated objects such as rails or pipes. Background technique [0002] A prior art rail cutting machine can be seen in Japanese Unexamined Patent Application No. 5-346003. Such as Figure 12 As shown, the rail cutting machine has a clamping frame 201 for securing a rail 200 . A pair of sliding shafts 202 extends rearwardly from the rear end of the clamping frame 201 . The block body 203 is slidably supported by the sliding shaft 202 . The support arm 204 is supported by the block body 203 for swinging up and down. The arm 204 supports a rotary blade 205 for cutting the rail 201 , a blade cover 206 and a motor 207 for driving the rotary blade 205 . [0003] As the arm 204 swings downward, the rotating blade 205 moves toward the rail 200 and cuts the rail. However, when the support arm 204 swings downward, the blade cover 206 and the motor 207 also swing with the arm 204 . Thus, if an o...
