Problems solved by technology

However, films formed from sodium silicate tend to be very hard and brittle
The addition of plasticizers may be an effective way to combat this problem, however, the addition of such compounds can lead to a decrease in the compactness of the film
The addition of covalent silicates promotes firmness but tends to cause an undesirable white-gray appearance on the skin

Embodiment 1

[0078] The preparation method of the present invention is now described with reference to Table 3 below.

[0079] Initially, combine deionized (DI) water, sodium silicate, and fumed silica in the amounts and ratios shown in Table 3 below and mix the ingredients at a moderate speed, such as about 800 to about 1500 rpm, for 5-10 minutes until a uniform / uniform mixture. Using an overhead mixer and propeller blades, in this particular example, a RW 20 to stir until homogeneous. Of course, this is only one method and apparatus that can be used.

[0080] After this mixing stage, the polyurethane is added and the composition is continuously mixed at a moderate speed, such as about 800 to about 1500 rpm, until homogeneous.

[0081] Meanwhile, in a separate container, combine the pre-wetted xanthan gum, glycerin, and 1,3-butanediol and add to the main composition. This leads to a significant increase in the viscosity of the composition. The composition is mixed at a higher rate u...

Embodiment 2

[0092] The preparation method of the present invention is now described with reference to Table 4 below. As set forth in Example 1 above, the method steps as set forth in Example 1 were followed.

[0093] Initially, combine deionized (DI) water, sodium silicate, and fumed silica in the amounts and ratios shown in Table 4 below and mix the ingredients at a moderate speed, such as about 800 to about 1500 rpm, for 5-10 minutes until a uniform / uniform mixture.

[0094] After this mixing stage, Polyurethane-35 is added and the composition is continuously mixed at a moderate speed, such as about 800 to about 1500 rpm, until homogeneous.

[0095] Method: Add ingredients in the order listed from top to bottom of the table. The composition was mixed for about 10 minutes between each addition.

Embodiment 3 and 4

[0105] In some embodiments, the fumed silica is Wacker HDK N20; the polyurethane polymer is Baycusan C 1004; the xanthan gum is Keltrol CG-T, and the 1,2-hexanediol and octanediol are provided as Symdiol 68. Other acidic additives may also be included.

[0107]

[0108] Liquid sour lactic acid was tested by direct addition to System 96A without dilution in water. Sample 96A was more viscous than Sample 93B, still compacted very well and the composition was very stable with no water separation. For some batches, sample 93B showed some water separation, which the inventors believe may be due to the water added with the citric acid solution in the last step and not having enough sheer to bring the water into the system middle. The stable system obtained when lactic acid was used without water in the final step confirmed this hypothesis as to the cause of the water separation in some cases. Therefore, a longer shear time / mixing time was provided in the last step ...

Abstract

The present application relates to cosmetic compositions, and in particular, to skintightening compositions and to compositions that improve the appearance of the skin by providing skin-tightening improvements to the skin, for treatment of, for example, eye bags, facial wrinkles and other skin imperfections. The cosmetic compositions comprise a polyvalent silicate; at least one film former, and a carboxylic acid, wherein the pH of the composition is in the range 6.0 to 11.2, and the composition provides a tightening effect on application to the skin. The present invention provides a composition which provides an efficient tightening product yet with good natural skin shine but without the white residue appearance associated with known products.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to cosmetic lifting compositions, in particular, to skin tightening compositions and compositions for improving the appearance of the skin. Background technique [0002] One of the most visible signs of aging is the formation of visible wrinkles and increased puffiness in the under-eye area. Therefore, a wide variety of products have been developed to hide or reduce the visible effects of these effects. Such products include topical cosmetics and blush, which are used to conceal wrinkles and mask puffiness, as well as cosmetics that involve injecting compounds such as BOTOX under the skin. TM A more complex procedure to firm the skin and prevent puffiness and wrinkles. Other procedures involve the use of topical treatments to hydrate and hydrate the skin, which can reduce the number of visible wrinkles by making the skin softer and suppler. Other products contain active ingredients like niacinamide, which are designed...
