The control method comprises the following steps of acquiring coiler temperature of anindoor heat exchanger of an indoor unit; acquiring a shielding condition of a purification assembly on an air inlet; determining a frequency adjustment rule according to the coiler temperature and theshielding condition, and at least stipulating an adjusting direction and an adjusting rate in one frequency adjustment stage according to the frequency adjustment rule; and adjusting operating frequencies of a compressor of the air conditioner stage by stage according to the frequency adjustment rule to enable the coiler temperature to reach a preset target temperature range. According to the control method of the air conditioner with the purification function, the facts that the shielding condition of the purification assembly on the air inlet are different , the loads on a system are different, the increasing and decreasing speeds of the coiler temperature are different are taken into consideration, the adjusting speed of different operating frequencies of the compressor is set, and thus the frequency ascending and frequency descending of the compressor are more accurate.
