Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for managing the starting of a heat engine of a hybrid drive system, comprising a heat engine and an electric motor (BSG), as well as a crankshaft (X), the electric motor (BSG) producing a torque for starting the heat engine and driving the crankshaft (X) at least during an initial starting phase. The method has a transient starting phase during which theheat engine drives the crankshaft (X) and at the end of which the electric motor (BSG) is stopped. The electric motor (BSG) is regulated, during the initial phase (ELEC) and during the transient phase, with a first engine-speed setting (N_SP_IS). The transient phase starts when the crankshaft (X) reaches the first engine-speed setting (N_SP_IS) in a stabilised fashion. The control of the torque produced by the electric motor (BSG) during said transient starting phase is configured so that the electric motor (BSG) is stopped as soon as said control determines that the torque produced by the electric motor (BSG) is tending towards zero torque.
