The method provided by the invention adopts two infrared cameras which are placed up and down, images corresponding to different pitch angles and performs uninterrupted sector scan in aspecified detection azimuth are respectively acquired, images of different azimuth angles corresponding to multiple scene points are acquired by virtue of a fixed angle or fixed time interval way andthe current corresponding azimuth angle is acquired, and a splicing position of a to-be-spliced image in a panorama picture is calculated according to a ratio of the current azimuth angle to a detection range, so that a complete scene picture is spliced. The method provided by the invention can realize real-time generation of a panorama picture in a large scene range, splicing speed is high, and the method provided by the invention is not constrained by a placing position and an angle of a land defense rotary table.
