Abstract

The disclosure relates to a selectively playing method and system for audio and video formats. The method comprises the steps of when receiving an audio and video playing request transmitted by a mobile terminal, identifying an operating system version of the mobile terminal; based on the operating system version, finding out whether an audio and video format corresponding to the operating system version is present in a mapping relation table of the operating system version and the audio and video formats; and when the audio and video format corresponding to the operating system version exists, responding to the audio and video playing request of the mobile terminal using the audio and video formats. The disclosure solves the problems of bad user experience due to that audio and video files need to be repeatedly played to find out audio and video formats matching the audio and video files when a mobile terminal receives an audio and video playing request in the prior art.
