The invention discloses a method for realizing multiplayer voice and video communication on a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the steps of entering an information exchange interface of a discussion group, receiving an operation command to initiate a multiplayer session, and sending an invitation request of the multiplayer session to members in the discussion group; determining that the members in the discussion group accept the invitation to join the multiplayer session, entering a multiplayer voice session interface, and conducting the multiplayer voice session with the member accepting the invitation; and receiving an operation command to switching the voice session into a video session, and acquiring and displaying the video images of the selected members by a user in the multiplayer voice session.
