Abstract

The invention discloses an auspicious cypress grafting method. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) selecting graft time, namely grafting during the period from the middle ten days of March to the first ten days of April; (2) selecting a tree stock; (3) selecting scionwood, namely selecting three branches with full gemmae from a Juniperus formosana tree and cutting down the three branches used as scions; (4) grafting, namely cutting the roots of the three scions into wedge-shaped inclined planes by use of a cutter, cutting T-shaped graft ports at the graft parts of the tree stock and respectively inserting the three sicons into the graft ports of the tree stock; (5) coating the graft parts; and (6) performing management after grafting. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the graft time is scientifically selected, a T-shaped whip grafting method is adopted, and three sicons are simultaneously grafted at the graft parts, so that the survival rate of grafted auspicious cypress is effectively ensured. Practice proves that by utilizing the method to graft auspicious cypress, the survival rate can be above 98%; and in addition, three sicons are simultaneously grafted, so that a tree crown can be formed conveniently, so that the auspicious cypress has greater ornamental value, and the economic benefits of auspicious cypress planting is greatly improved.
