Abstract

The invention provides a Hello message sending method and device in a neighborhood relationship establishing process. The hello message sending method comprises the following steps of: when receiving a Hello message sent by a new neighborhood RB (Routing Bridge), if a timer T has been started already, adding a VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) to which the Hello message belongs into a first VLAN set corresponding to the new neighborhood RB, and if the timer T is not started, starting the timer T and adding the VLAN to which the Hello message belongs into the first VLAN set corresponding to the new neighborhood RB; and after the timer T is time out, generating a second VLAN set according to the first VLAN set corresponding to the new neighborhood RB, and sending the Hello message by each VLAN in the second VLAN set. According to the Hello message sending method and device disclosed by the invention, the sending number of the Hello messages in the neighborhood relationship establishing process can be reduced.
