The invention provides a method for switching a focus of an organic chemical structural formula. The method comprises the following steps of: monitoring input from a keyboard; determining a focus on the organic chemical structural formula in an interactive chemical layout interface; and responding to the input to switch the focus. The invention also provides a device for switching a focus of an organic chemical structural formula. The device comprises a monitoring module, a current focus module and a focus switching module, wherein the monitoring module is used for monitoring input from a keyboard; the current focus module is used for determining a focus on the organic chemical structural formula in an interactive chemical layout interface; and the focus switching module is used for responding to the input to switch the focus. With the adoption of the method and the device, the operation efficiency in editing the organic chemical structural formula is improved.
