Abstract

The invention provides a method for selecting a target cell during handover. The target cell is selected according to the load and the signal quality of neighbor cells, the handover is not conducted according to an artificially set target cell and the quality of cell handover is improved. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining the reference signal received power (RSRP) information of the current neighbor cells and the serving cell of a terminal; and selecting the target cell for the terminal according to the obtained current load information of the neighbor cells of the terminal and the obtained RSRP information of the neighbor cells and the serving cell. The invention additionally provides corresponding equipment and a corresponding system, which can be used for making comparisons between the cell load and downlink signal quality to find out a high-quality cell for handover.
