Embodiment Construction

[0021] Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[0022] In the present invention, terms in the present invention can be construed as the following references. First, "coding" can occasionally be interpreted as encoding or decoding. Information is a term that includes values, parameters, coefficients, elements, etc.

[0023] Regarding the present invention, "audio signal" in the present invention is conceptually distinguished from a video signal. Also, audio signals indicate all signals that can be audibly identified in reproduction. Therefore, the audio signal can be divided into a speech signal mainly related to human voice or a signal similar to a speech signal (hereinafter referred to as a "speech signal"), a music signal mainly related to mechanical noise and sound or a signal similar to a music signal. signal (hereinafter referred to as "music signal") an...

Abstract

This invention is aimed at providing an encoding-signal-processing method and a device thereof that are able to compress and restore an audio signal at higher efficiency. For the aim of the invention, the disclosed audio-signal-processing method is characterized by comprising the steps of: judging based on primary information whether or not an audio signal type is a music signal,if not, judging based on secondary information whether the audio signal type is a voice signal or a mixed signal, and restoring the audio signal according to a coding method applied to each frame by using coding identification information when the audio signal type is a music signal, a voice signal or a mixed signal. Only the first type information is received if the audio signal type is a music signal, and both the primary information and the secondary information are received if the audio signal type is a voice signal or a mixed signal. Therefore, various audio signals can be encoded and decoded at higher efficiency.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an audio signal processing device and method thereof for efficiently encoding and decoding various audio signals. Background technique [0002] In general, coding techniques are conventionally divided into two types, such as perceptual audio coders and linear prediction based coders. For example, perceptual audio coders optimized for music employ schemes to reduce information size in the encoding process on the frequency axis using the masking principle, a psychoacoustic theory of human hearing. In contrast, linear prediction-based encoders optimized for speech employ a scheme to reduce information size by modeling speech utterances on the time axis. [0003] However, each of the above-mentioned techniques has good performance on each optimized audio signal (e.g., speech signal, music signal), but fails to perform well in complicated mixing together of different types of audio signals or speech and music signals. whil...
