Benefits of technology

This new technology helps prevent fouled items from sticking together when they are worn outdoors or stored indoors for longer periods without being removed by cleaning them with an anti-foulant solution like polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes how it can be used in fish farms where there are no or limited space available between them. However, this problem arises because current methods use paints made by seawater which cause environmental concerns such as contamination with other living things like algae bacteria.

Embodiment

[0006] Embodiment: a kind of low surface energy antifouling coating that prevents marine fixed biofouling, the weight percent composition is: polyurethane 30%, curing agent DN-EB5%, ethyl acetate 30%, liquid capsaicin 2.5%, polytetrafluoroethylene 22% vinyl fluoride, 9% chlorinated paraffin, 1% zinc oxide, 0.5% magnesium oxide; grind and mix chlorinated paraffin, zinc oxide and magnesium oxide for pigments and fillers; add ethyl acetate organic solvent to the main glue polyurethane and stir Evenly, after no solid lumps can be seen in the mixed solution, gradually add polytetrafluoroethylene, liquid capsaicin and the ground mixed filler in 8 times within 90 minutes and stir well, add the curing agent DN-EB in proportion, Stir evenly and apply by spraying method. The thickness of the coating is controlled at 100-150μm; in order to promote the volatilization of the residual solvent on the film coated with the adhesive to reach the standard, when drying, the drying temperature is b...

Abstract

A low surface energy antifouling coating capable of preventing marine sessile organism pollution comprises components with percentage by weight: 30 percent of polyurethane, 5 percent of curing agent DN-EB, 30 percent of ethyl acetate , 2.5 percent of liquid capsaicin, 22 percent of polytetrafluoroethylene, 9 percent of chlorinated paraffin, 1 percent of zinc oxide and 0.5 percent of magnesium oxide. The chlorinated paraffin is ground and mixed with color filler zinc oxide and magnesium oxide; the ethyl acetate organic solvent is added into the polyurethane and stirred uniformly, until solid block substance is not present in the mixed solution, the polytetrafluoroethylene, liquid capsaicin and ground mixed filler are added stepwise and stirred sufficiently, and then the curing agent DN-EB is added and stirred uniformly, coated in spraying way with a controlled coating thickness of 100-150 um; the product is dried between 60 to 70 DEG C for 6 hours and then cured between 40 to 60 DEG C for 48 hours. The invention has the advantage of solving problem that existing low surface energy antifouling coating can not meet antifouling requirements when applied in cage net.
