The hail absorption test method comprises engine hail absorption test point confirmation, hail speed and hail quantity confirmation methods, hail speed measurement, hail impact position accuracy measurement and confirmation methods, engine hail absorption test processes and conformance criteria. The hail absorption test method is suitable for a hail absorption test of a civil turbofan engine open-air test bed. The hail absorption test is divided into a single hail absorption test and a continuous hail absorption test. The single hail absorption test is a demonstration and verification test for the engine to inhale a single large hail, and the continuous hail absorption testis a demonstration and verification test for the engine to inhale a large number of small-size hails continuously. By adopting the hail absorption test method, the requirements of airworthiness evidence collection (qualified approval) hail absorption tests can be met, and the test method is safe, reliable and comprehensive in engine state assessment, and meets the requirements of CCAR33.
