Abstract

An earplug dispensing mechanism defining a longitudinal axis and including a divider assembly and an indexing assembly is disclosed. The divider assembly includes a platform, a guide wall and an aperture. The guide wall projects from the platform to define a well for receiving the earplug from the receptacle. Each hole opens to the well at an inlet opening. The guide wall forms the shape of a closed compound curve in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and surrounding the inlet opening. The indexing assembly is rotatably coupled to the divider assembly and includes a handle, a plate, and a mixing body. The plate is connected to the handle and defines a dispensing hole. The mixing body is attached to the side of the plate opposite the handle. Rotation of the handle selectively aligns the dispensing aperture with a single one of the apertures, with the guide wall shaped to drain the earplug into the well toward the aperture.
