Embodiment 1

[0036] As shown in FIG. 4, it is a schematic flowchart of an embodiment of a method for obtaining optical network unit capability information in the present invention. This embodiment includes the following steps:

[0037] Step 101, when the preset condition is met, the ONU queries the capability information supported by itself in its own management information database;

[0038] Step 102, generating a report message containing capability information conforming to a predetermined format, and sending it to the OLT;

[0039] Step 103 , when the OLT receives the reporting message, it extracts and obtains capability information according to a predetermined format.

[0040] In step 101, it is determined that the preset condition is met, but not limited to three situations. One is that after the OLT receives an instruction from the network management device, it actively sends a request to the ONU to obtain the capability information supported by the ONU, and the ONU receives the re...

Embodiment 2

[0081] As shown in FIG. 5 , it is a schematic flowchart of another embodiment of the method for obtaining ONU capability information of the present invention. Compared with the previous embodiment, this embodiment further includes the step 100 of setting the reporting format of capability information in OLT and ONU in advance. Each manufacturer’s equipment can pre-set the reporting format before leaving the factory, or set a unified reporting format according to the situation during equipment debugging. The so-called reporting format here includes the reporting type represented by each field, the field’s Length and arrangement order, when setting the report format, it is only required to unify the report format among all devices, and there is no need to impose special restrictions on the report type, the length and arrangement order of this field.

[0082] Through a unified reporting format, there is a basis for identification capability information between devices from differ...

Abstract

The invention relates to an optical network unit capacity information acquisition method, including the following steps: when the preset conditions are achieved, an optical network unit inquiries the own supporting capacity information in the own management information base, then the reporting information containing the capacity information which is in line with the preset format is generated andis sent to an optical line terminal; when the optical line terminal receives the reporting information, the capacity information is extracted and obtained according to the preset format. The invention also relates to an optical network unit capacity information acquisition system, including: a capacity information inquiry module, a reporting information generating module, a reporting information sending module, a reporting information receiving module and a capacity information extracting module. The invention unifies the formats of the capacity information at the both sides of ONU and OLT, which can avoid the problem that the reporting capacity information is not identified due to the un-unified formats during the equipments of the different manufacturers and ensure the EPON system to smoothly implement the corresponding OAM extension function.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to passive optical network (Passive Optical Network, referred to as PON) technology, especially a kind of ability to obtain Optical Network Unit (Optical Network Unit, referred to as ONU) under Ethernet passive optical network (Ethernet PON, referred to as EPON) Methods of information and their systems. Background technique [0002] With the rapid development of the Internet and new services and applications such as IPTV that put forward higher requirements for access bandwidth, optical fiber access has become an inevitable direction for the development of broadband access networks. Considering the maturity of technology and operating cost, EPON is the most important means of realizing optical fiber access, and it is also the access technology with the most development potential. [0003] Since the EPON system adopts a bandwidth-sharing point-to-multipoint topology, as shown in Figure 1, each Optical Line Terminal 1 (Opti...
