The host server comprises a virtual machine, a virtual machine switch and a physical network card. The method comprises the steps that according to virtualization information which is obtained through a virtual machine management server, virtual network topology is obtained; according to an ARP table of the physical switch, an MAC address forwarding table of the physical switch and the IP, obtained through the virtual machine management server, of a management port of the host server, connection relation between the management port and a physical switch port is obtained; according to the virtual network topology, the MAC address forwarding table of the physical switch and a virtual machine MAC address in virtualization information, connection relation between the physical network card bound by the virtual machine switch correlated with the virtual machine and the physical switch port is obtained; according to the two kinds of connection relation, physical network topology is obtained.
